Geburtstagswünsche – Mama Elephant

(For the English version please scroll down)

Hallo allerseits!

English Version

Hello everyone! I hope you had/have a great Easter weekend. I have already enjoyed the beautiful, sunny weather here in Austria and my Vitamin-D stash is already filled up. With this awesome sunshine I really wanted to create an ocean themed card. The awesome new Mama Elephant products inspired me immediately.

For the background I used Distress Oxide colors. From white cardstock I diecut the „Scales Cover“ die and blended faded jeans, salty ocean, peacock feathers and tumbled glass inks from dark to light. With the older landscape trio die I added an ocean ground. I decided to go with a combination of tea dye und antique linen Distress Oxide colors. The corals are mainly colored with abandoned coral. I added some details with Copic markers and a white gel pen.

Afterwards I prepared all the components of the interactive „Flip Slider„. The violet paper is from Lawn Fawn and I combined it with plain white cardstock. The internal pieces for the flip slider are also diecut with he scales cover die for more texture and interest. I used the same papers for the awesome „Ribbon Banner“ which is a new die that I will use a lot in the future, for sure.

The sweet mermaids from „Little Mermaid Agenda“ and the otter from „Otterly adorable“ are colored with Copic markers. The tiny birthday wishes as well as the „pull me“ from the flip slider are from the new, very useful, set „Mini Everyday Messages„. I already have the older set Mini Messages and I really used it quite a lot – so I definitely needed the new one too. You won’t believe how useful these tiny sentiments are for empty spaces on your cards.

On the banner I decided to go with the sentiment from „Birthday Messages„. In my Misti Stamping-Tool I had the possibility to bend the clear stamp so that the sentiment will be curved a bit.

Last but not least I adhered all the prepared parts onto the background (I used foam tape for the banner only). With Nuvo crystal drops in sea breeze I added some bubbles and the interactive birthday card was all finished. (and yes I know that otters are not running on the ground, especially on the ocean but I coudn’t resist and by the way, I haven’t seen a mermaid either yet 😉 )

I also prepared a short photo story for you:

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!
